Language preference

When you select a language, the website stores the selected language in your browser’s local storage under the key synedgy.language. This preference is used to offer the selected language when you return to the home page.

The language-preference feature does not send the stored value to SynEdgy. You can remove it by clearing this site’s stored data in your browser.

On the home page, the website may also read the languages reported by your browser to choose an available language. This check takes place in your browser.

Analytics

The replacement website is configured to use Plausible Analytics on the production synedgy.com hostname. Plausible will record page views and a small allow-list of interaction events used to understand contact and training journeys.

The integration does not load on local, preview, acceptance, or staging hostnames. SynEdgy does not send link labels, form contents, names, email addresses, or other local event properties to Plausible.

Plausible states that its service does not use cookies or persistent identifiers and hosts visitor data in the European Union. The provider contract, retention, controller, and applicable consent position must be approved before this notice is published and analytics is activated through the production release.

Hosting and security logs

When the website is deployed, its hosting and security services may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP addresses, request times, requested URLs, browser information, and security events.

The hosting provider, log purposes, locations, recipients, and retention periods must be confirmed before this notice is published.

Enquiries

The replacement website provides forms for consulting, training, public-course interest, event partnerships, and general enquiries. The forms may collect your name, email address, organisation, country or region, preferred language, message, and information relevant to the selected enquiry path.

The forms will submit to an Azure Functions backend after its processing, security, retention, and delivery arrangements are approved. The planned backend will validate the request, apply abuse controls, queue accepted submissions, and deliver them to an approved Microsoft 365 mailbox.

If you use the form or contact SynEdgy by email, we may process the information you provide to:

• Respond to your enquiry
• Take steps you request before entering into a contract
• Manage an existing business or community relationship
• Meet legal, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution obligations

Do not send sensitive personal data unless it is necessary and SynEdgy has agreed how it should be handled.

External websites

This site links to external services, including community and social platforms. Those services handle personal data under their own privacy notices when you visit them.

The PSConfEU MiniCon page embeds a schedule supplied by Sessionize. When you visit that page, your browser requests the schedule script and related content directly from Sessionize. Sessionize may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details, requested page, and request time under its own privacy terms.

Subscriptions

You can request emails about new Articles, occasional SynEdgy updates, or both. Neither preference is selected in advance. We collect your first name, last name, email address, selected preferences, signup language, and confirmation evidence.

We use your names to address you appropriately. SynEdgy may occasionally review a subscriber’s public professional profile manually to understand the professional audience attracted by its content. This is not automated enrichment or decision-making, and we do not need to copy unrelated profile information into the subscriber record.

The subscription becomes active only after you confirm it by email. Each message will provide preference and unsubscribe controls. Occasional SynEdgy updates are sent no more than quarterly and normally only a handful of times each year.

The mailing provider, retention, tracking, suppression, and international transfer arrangements must be approved before subscriptions are activated.
